About UlcaBuf's Ingredients
Turmeric
Curcuma xanthorhizza is a unique form of Turmeric where research has shown that when fed to horses it may suppress the formation of stomach ulcers.
PowerStance
This unique powdered coconut oil from Stance Equitec aids in the absorption of turmeric powder by the digestive system. It boasts high levels of Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), providing a readily available non-glucose energy source. Additionally, PowerStance contains Lauric Acid, which converts to monolaurin, supporting gut health. Lauric acid is also associated with antiviral, antibacterial, and immune-boosting properties.
Seaweed Derived Calcium
The seaweed comes from the ocean off the coast of Iceland and is harvested for its red algae (Lithothamnion). Lithothamnion has a honeycomb structure that provides a large surface area of (>10m2) per gram and a slow release of bio-available minerals, calcium, magnesium and silicon. It has a longer buffering action than limestone or sodium bicarbonate. Research shows this had a significant buffering action for 4-6 hours under simulated in vitro stomach digestion conditions and also stimulated in vitro hindgut fermentation activities.
Actigen
Actigen is a strain of yeast containing Mannan Oligosaccharides (MOS). MOS are considered a prebiotic and are thought to promote the growth of healthy gut bacteria. Actigen is thought to reduce the number of pathogenic bacteria in the hindgut. They may also boost the immune function in the digestive tract.
Yea-SaccTS
Yea-SaccTS is a probiotic (live microorganism) that works symbiotically with Actigen (a prebiotic) and helps promote beneficial bacteria and fibre digestion in the hindgut as well as help to stabilise the hindgut pH.
Sodium Alginate
Sodium Alginate may assist in maintaining the integrity of the mucus membrane within the digestive tract.
UlcaBuf can be fed alongside medication such as gastroguard with no decrease in effect.

Our filly is currently having her first proper preparation. On commencement she was very loose in her motions, easily upset and didn’t do well at all. I have had her on UlcaBuf for around 5 weeks now and she has definitely turned the corner. She is eating well, her stools are normal and she has settled in herself. We will continue to use this product on her for the preparation

Our very successful Welsh Pony Mare Imperial Bow Bell had her first foal November 2017 and suddenly became very stressed when ever she was locked in a box due to the weather or for us to handle the foal and would start licking wall and crib biting, in every other way she was the same beautiful temperament mare, we were so worried she would start to windsuck that we did not show her with the foal at foot and turned her back out in the paddock where she was happy and relaxed. After weaning her foal in the middle of April she was turned out for 3 weeks and then washed and bought back in under lights of a night but out in the paddocks of a day. We quickly noticed that she was still cribbing and licking the walls constantly. I decided to get in touch with Stance and we were quickly sent a tub of UlcaBuf! We put her on the UlcaBuf on Friday the 11th of May and the difference is amazing, she is quite happy to stand at the gate or in the middle of the stable with no thoughts of licking or cribbing. It is only early days yet but I feel we are on the right track and I would so much like to Stance for all your help and support.

Recently, i was offered UlcaBuf for me to try. I was aware of the research so I said I would try it when I found the right horse. It wasn’t too long before I had an opportunity to try it. A client of mine had a troublesome TB – The usual problems for an OTTB – under weight, not really thriving despite receiving a healthy, non-grain, balanced diet for some weeks. Due to his past history and somewhat stressy behaviour, ulcers were suspected although he had not been scoped. With little to lose I started the UlcaBuf. The diet and environment were stable so I was confident that if there were any effects it would be due to the UlcaBuf. Within a few days the horse had started eating its non-grain meals with enthusiasm and started to greet his owner at meal times. His coat is also
developing a very nice shine. His weight is slowly but surely improving. In addition to the research described, this experience increased my confidence in this product and it is one I have in my “equine nutrition tool kit” if relevant situations arise. Please note: I am not promoting this product but am sharing my experience of this product in accordance with the scientific research conducted on it.

I know I rattle on about UlcaBuf but I do it for a reason. UlcaBuf was used on thoroughbred sales yearling preparation. The sales
yearlings dont get pasture time at all and are fed a high concentrate diet. Spending 21 hours a day in a stable only getting out to go on the Walker, wash bay, or parade ring. Nearly all prepped yearlings develop gastric ulcers and other digestive upsets which in turn effect behaviour, appetite and of course this snow balls into more issues. This lot of yearlings were immediately introduced to UlcaBuf on arrival. Appetites remained healthy. Mood and behaviour was outstanding in all of them. No smelly sour manure. Just happy, contented, blooming yearlings. The natural ingredients is the key with no bad side effects. I can’t recommend ULCABUF enough.

I just wanted to send through a quick message to say what great results I’ve had on your products, my Hanoverian mare is on your Ulcabuf and has been absolutely thriving on it. Her attitude to work has completely changed. I have been getting so many comments on her incredible condition and change in attitude since she’s been on your products, which has been about 6 months now. I just wanted to send an appreciation message for your wonderful products, I’ve recommended them to many people. From a very happy customer!

I knew my Endurance Gelding Teddy had ulcers when he started drinking excessively and had diluted urine. I had him scoped and ulcers confirmed followed by a course of medication set by our vet. Afterwards though I wanted to introduce something that would continue to help him and was recommend Ulcabuf. In two weeks of a double dose his hair had started to grow like I’ve never seen it. I wish I’d taken a before photo! He is back to being happy, drinking normal and back on the Endurance track.

Used on mare in racing. Negative signs of ulcers she showed were:
•picky eater going off feed after racing
•very unsettled at races trying to squash handlers in the tie-ups when saddling up
•at home warning to kick when girthed up or hosing down
•not wanting to be caught for work and grumpy
Changes in her behaviour we could notice are:
•better eating
•more settled and calmer at races
•happier to work and better performance

Noddy is prone to ulcers and never eats when stabled for a few days and is usually cranky at the same time. He’s been on the UlcaBuf since I received it last week and this week, he’s been stabled due to it raining and being too wet. I’m happy to say he hasn’t lost his appetite and he licked his bucket clean and hasn’t been cranky so I’m super happy! I will definitely be placing another order soon!

have been keen with digestive management with my horses since 2007-2008, back when some vets still said that gastric ulcers don’t exist in (non-competitive) horses. Over the years I have battled both gastric ulcers and colonic ulcers in my horses and horses in my community. I have spent thousands trialling the latest ‘product’ that makes claims… only to find improvements in symptoms, improvements in affect, negative screening with one or the other using the Succeed Fecal test but never all the symptoms. I have had NO experience so far with any (non drug) product that can change the Succeed fecal test to negative for H. I recently was offered to trial Stance Equitec UlcaBuf; I have found something that has proven extremely valuable in my program… Using the Succeed Fecal Test and Dr Laura Taylor’s osteopathic evaluation, we found both foregut and hindgut ulcers in two of my horses in May of this year….. We trialled another product with unsuccessful results for 3 months then in August I started using UlcaBuf. Both my horses are now screening NEGATIVE for both foregut and hindgut ulcers!!! Very Excited for this!

I just wanted to let everyone know about the incredible results I have had, feeding UlcaBuf. My mare is 6 years old, very lightly shown but in recent months the thought of her competing again seemed highly unlikely. Her whole demeanour had changed to the point of her becoming dangerous to approach, rug, feed, catch etc., let alone ride! She has always been a bit of a cranky princess, but this was another level! I decided to leave her out of the stables at night and no longer put warm rugs on either. Then, three weeks ago I started feeding her UlcaBuf. I changed nothing else. Two weeks in and she was a different horse! She is friendly and happy to see me! I have even started putting her warm rug back on at night, without fear of being attacked! This morning, for the first time in 3 months I was able to lead her to my arena and lunge her! This has been a massive step forward and I am looking forward to riding her later this week. I am so impressed with UlcaBuf, that I would recommend it wholeheartedly. Thank you so much. My dragon is now a pussy cat!

This supplement has helped Duke so much! He’s so much more happy to have his girth put on now & is happier being rugged! So far out of all the supplements I have tried this is the only one that’s worked!

For the past 2 yrs we have struggled to find a product to help one of our horses who was forever having soft and at times runny poo, anxious and unsettled when taken out to comps. A friend put us onto UlcaBuff and he hasn’t looked back. Being anxious has completely gone he’s settled, working well, and most importantly no more runny poo. I highly recommend it. We are very impressed with this product.
Nash (verified owner) –
Pookie is now settled and not tense while out at events.
Louise (verified owner) –
I didn’t expect her to settle as much as she did after using UlcaBuf, considering how terrified she was before.
Michael Glenn (verified owner) –
Our team deserve only the best, to look and feel their best! Thank you UlcaBuf.
